WoW! I loved it and will read it again and again. So much good thought is packed into this essay. Near the end it reminded me of an interview I saw with a defector from North Korea who now lives in the US. She came here via South Korea. She talks about how amazed she was to learn so many new Korean words when she moved to the south. In the north, they were not taught the word for love, or depression or hunger (amongst other things)...the thought was that if they didn’t have a name for a particular feeling, they couldn’t identify, discuss or complain about it. Deep stuff....the power of adequate language to explore oneself. Thank you for this 🙏🏽

I do believe that we are indeed being intentionally confused and distracted, so that ‘their’ goals can be easier met. Gender, race, political ‘sides’, etc.

Proud to call you my friend! You are not only a weaver of music, but of words, and here, you have woven a pathway of understanding. You speak the language of sense and we should all be sure enough to follow our instincts. When something doesn't feel right, it usually isn't. Question on my princess warrior.

hi Anais, reading your substack via Tessa and the robots. I have gone through a similar journey over in Australia.....where 'left and right' politics have become meaningless to me and I get my information from a wider range of sources now. It's good to find the artists and writers. I gather anyone who doubts the official narrative is meant to be an extreme right wing dummy, whatever that means any more. I wish we could all get together and have a wonderful party, maybe one day !

your daughters are so lucky to have you. what a joy to read about kids who have been empowered to use their imaginations and have rich interior lives. i'm guessing they don't have much screen time ;)

looking forward to hearing more of your music when this madness is over!

That is so kind, thank you! Yes, I am eager to be able to perform again. (And yes, my daughters have little screen time. The older has chosen, of her own volition, to stay away from social media. It definitely helps with mental health to steer clear of it!)

Oh my comment wasn’t saved I guess!

This is what I said. A beautiful piece. Somewhere I cried, perhaps out of grief but with a sense of release letting go. Letingo!!
